Thank God that so many people gathered with joy. The Metropolitan said nicely that they shined with life, it can be seen in the pictures from Yekaterinburg. Here in Niš, I would like to see something similar next year at our celebration.

It was good to hear the metropolitan put it that way. The joy really does come through in those photos from Yekaterinburg. I hope your parish in Niš gets something like that next year for your slava.

Listening to Metropolitan Eugene, I remembered that even in Tirana, when we gather for the feast of St. Asti, people come out with open faces, as if they have forgotten their troubles. It's good that even in Yekaterinburg they managed to feel that lively joy. Maybe we can try to do something bigger next year too.

The photos from Yekaterinburg really do show that quiet joy, don't they. Our parish in Niš is hoping for a smaller version next year – maybe just a procession and kolivo after liturgy. Have you been to a slava celebration yourself?

Thank you Ivana, you are absolutely right, you can see the joy on the faces in the pictures. Here in Belgrade, after the procession on Vidovdan, it's always similar, people carry cakes and sing as they go home. And in Niš, what exactly are you planning for next year's celebration, do you already have any ideas?

Yes, those photos from Yekaterinburg really captured it. I’ve been to a few slava celebrations in Niš myself — the simple table with kolivo and the singing after liturgy always feels like family. Hope your parish pulls off something warm like that next year too.
