Local communities celebrate Bossey’s 80th anniversary

Students and faculty joined a local parishes and surrounding communities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey.

The Parish of Terre Sainte/Céligny welcomed the Bossey cohort on 25 September for a social evening.
The activities started with an apéritif, followed by peaches, dinner, tasting of local cheese and wine, and the cutting of an anniversary cake.
Conveying the wishes of the parish, Pastor Linda Libuet said, “ Eighty years is long enough to show that something is truly enduring. For us, it is a sign of the enduring strength of the universal church, of which, thanks to the institute and the students we meet year after year, we are able to gain a glimpse.”
She said that Bossey is immensely valuable for the small local parish, giving the community a window into the church that is far greater, broader, and richer than what they encounter in their daily experience.
