Pope Leo XIV was right that the island became a sign of brotherhood. As a driver, I have seen how people in Plovdiv also shared bread and clothes with the refugees from Syria years ago. The important thing is to not stop doing it, even when it is difficult.

In Lampedusa, people share the last things with visitors, and last year in Poltava, women from a neighboring house brought borscht and bread for those who came from abroad for the church holiday. The Pope rightly says that it is not just words, but a common thing when you see a person in front of you. I wonder if they have enough strength to continue like this.

In Rostov, a couple of years ago, they also brought Syrians, and grandmothers from our parish after the service left them food right at the church - pilaf, bread, sometimes clothes. Dad is right when he says that these are not big words, but just seeing the person in front of you. I wonder how it is now in Lampedusa, whether the locals have enough strength to continue.
