UIGA cadets visited the Spassky Conventtranslated

1 September 5, cadets of the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation named after Chief Marshal of Aviation B.P. Bugaev visited the Spassky Convent. The organizer was the coordination center within the framework of the Open Dialogue project. The meeting was dedicated to interfaith and interethnic dialogue between the peoples of Russia.

For future pilots, we held an excursion “Theirs and theirs are forever in our hearts.” The cadets learned about the history of the monastery and about Saint Catherine (Dekalina), visited the gate church in honor of the new martyrs and confessors of Simbirsk and the church in the name of the Savior, the Image Not Made by Hands. The guys also climbed the bell tower, where everyone could try themselves in the role of a bell ringer.

Then the children were presented with an exhibition of the recently opened museum of the Simbirsk diocese, consecrated by Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky. The halls of the museum contain ancient books, icons, personal belongings of the nuns of the Spassky Monastery, items of bishop's vestments and samples of gold embroidery.
