Candle Procession and Premiere of a Play: Parishioners of the Church in Honor of Saint Stephen the Great Permian Celebrated the Feast of the Finding of the True Crosstranslated

On the Feast of the Finding of the True Cross of our Lord, September 27, 2026, after the Divine Liturgy, Father Alexander Karachëv, the priest in charge of the church in honor of Saint Stephen the Great Permian, together with parishioners, as per tradition, led a candle procession with the relic cross containing particles from the relics of thirty-seven holy servants of God to the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. On the way, two stops were made: at the memorial chapel being built on the site of the Church of the Ascension — the first church in Nizhne-Isetsky settlement — and at the Obelisk honoring the children from the Nizhne-Isetsky Children's Home who fell on the fronts of World War II. Near the Kazan Church, there was a joyful meeting of two parishes.

Candle Procession with the Relic from the Church of Saint Stephen the Great Permian — bearing particles from the relics of thirty-seven holy servants of God — traditionally takes place three times a year, on feast days dedicated to the Cross of our Lord. After the candle procession in the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, for the first time an exhibition of children's drawings dedicated to the life of Saint Stephen the Great Permian was opened. The students from Sunday school depicted the missionary journey of the saint, his struggle against pagan idols, and his establishment of faith in Permian lands.
