The conference of the Synodal Commission on the canonization of saints took place in Minsk. A cleric of the diocese took part in the worktranslated

On September 24, in the building of the Church of Equal-to-the-Apostles Methodius and Cyril at the Patriarchal Representation in Minsk, the VII scientific conference of the Synodal Commission for the canonization of saints of the Belarusian Orthodox Church entitled “Saints of White Rus': current issues of veneration and glorification” took place. From the Lida diocese, the dean of the Ostrovets district, Archpriest Georgy Savitsky, took part in the conference.

Bishop Ambrose of Borisov and Maryinogorsk, who is the chairman of the commission, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference. Then the speakers spoke: Archpriest Dmitry Shilenok with a report “Orthodox priests during the Great Patriotic War, using the example of Priest John Loiko”, Priest Alexey Maslenkov with a report “Revered and miraculous icons of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Belarus.” Archpriest Alexander Lopushansky held a presentation of the book “The Life of the Hieromartyr Alexy, Presbyter Lelchitsky.”

After the reports, the conference participants took a group photo in the church and ended the meeting with a joint tea party and a warm conversation.
