The cleric of the Zheleznogorsk Cathedral told the cadets of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations about the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Marytranslated

Last week, as part of the celebration of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the staff cleric of the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael in the city of Zheleznogorsk, Priest Sergiy Korolev, met with cadets and students of the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The meeting was of a missionary and spiritual-educational nature and was held in the format of a live dialogue.

Father Sergius spoke in detail about the history of the holiday and the essence of the celebrated event, and also explained why in Rus' the Most Holy Theotokos has long been revered with special reverence: in the most difficult times, the Mother of God was turned to with prayer for salvation and protection.

For future firefighters and rescuers, the topic under discussion turned out to be especially close: their job is to go into danger every day in order to save others. At the end of the meeting, the priest noted that faith and prayer provide internal support and remind us of the value of human life.
