On October 30, 2026, a plenary meeting of the Forum of Elders of the South of Russia “The Wisdom of Generations is in the Unity of Russia” was held in the Historical Park “Russia is My History” in Makhachkala.

The event was attended by the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin, the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Magomed Ramazanov, representatives of the legislative branch, Councils of Elders, public and religious organizations, heads of NGOs, including youth and veteran associations from the regions of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts.

With the blessing of Archbishop Varlaam of Makhachkala and Derbent, the Makhachkala diocese was represented at the plenary session of the forum by the rector of the Prince Vladimir Church of the capital of Dagestan, Priest Vladimir Filchakov.
