Cossacks of Donetsk will gather for prayer at the worship cross at the Cossack cemetery several times a yeartranslated

On the eve of the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Cossacks of Donbass gathered at the ancient Cossack cemetery in the city of Makeevka to honor the memory of all the deceased Cossacks. The great holiday of the Intercession of the Mother of God has been especially revered by all Cossack troops for many centuries. That is why it was decided to pray together for the repose of the previously deceased ancestors and defenders of our Fatherland.

The funeral service in front of the worship cross located at the entrance to the cemetery territory was performed by the chairman of the diocesan department for interaction with the Cossacks, dean of the Dokuchaevsky church district, Archpriest Nikita Panasyuk. After a joint prayer, the clergyman consecrated the worship cross in memory of all the deceased Cossacks and invited the Cossack community of the city of Makeyevka to take care of the cross and honor this place of memory.

According to the website of the Donetsk diocese, the Cossacks expressed a desire to gather in prayerful communion at the worship cross several times a year.
