The Diocesan Spiritual and Educational Center “Sretenie” presented the project of the leisure center “Dobrynya” at the XV Fair of Social Initiatives. The youth department of the diocese - an exhibition about Metropolitan Nestor (Anisimov).

“What’s so interesting about you?” - this question usually began with the acquaintance of visitors or participants of the XV Fair of Social Initiatives with the exhibition dedicated to the ministry of Metropolitan Nestor (Anisimov), the educator of Kamchatka. The exhibition is presented by the Spiritual and Educational Center “Sretenie”.

The children were attracted by things from the life of the indigenous peoples of the region, with which we illustrated the story about the journey of Vl. Nestor in the north of Kamchatka. Adults paid attention to the pre-revolutionary files of the Russian Pilgrim magazines, which covered the service of the young Kamchatka missionary.

Priest Roman Nikitin, speaking about the bishop’s service during the “Khrushchev Thaw,” showed the magazine “Ogonyok” for 1961, where a libel against the bishop was published. Metropolitan Nestor, heading the Kirovograd diocese, refused to close churches, which is why he found himself at the forefront of criticism.
