If the church is like our simple house in Gjirokastra, it is enough to have good light inside and a dry corner to light the candle without getting wet. We don't need marble, but to make you feel at home when you enter.

Yes, I agree with Vangjel. Here in Constanța, I saw a small old stone church, without beams, but the sun came in through the high windows and it was so quiet that you felt you could sit and read a prayer like at home. Marble does not make the soul rest, but light and simplicity.

We have one small church near the port in Odessa, also simple, without marble. The sun sets through the high windows, like Ana's, and you really want to just stand there and pray. The main thing is that it should be dry and warm inside, and not a cold palace.

In Yaroslavl we also have such a small wooden church on the outskirts, where the floor creaks and the sun falls through simple windows. No marble, but when you come in from the cold and light a candle, you immediately feel at home. The main thing is that it is dry and calm inside, as all three write.

In Samara, we also have such a modest wooden church on the outskirts, where the floors creak and you put candles by a simple window. I completely agree with you all - marble does not warm, but when it is dry, warm and quiet, like at home, then it is easier to pray. The main thing is that the candle does not get wet, like Vangel’s.

Yes, Bohdan, it is really easier to concentrate in simple churches. We have a similar wooden one near Lviv, also without any marble - in winter, we only turn on the boiler so as not to freeze. And tell me, that Odesa church near the port, it doesn't leak even after the rain?

Ana, you are right about that simplicity. At our place in Craiova, at a small chapel in the old quarter, that's how the light came in in the morning and you felt at home, without all the gold that blinds you. Have you ever seen a small stone church here in Oltenia that stuck in your mind?
