Distinguished church leaders, Clergy, sisters and brothers in Christ,

I bring you the greetings of the World Council of Churches. Our entire fellowship joins me in greeting you today.

It is a privilege to be in Nigeria—a nation of remarkable diversity, deep faith, extraordinary resilience and immense potential.

The World Council of Churches speaks about the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation and Unity. We seek to walk and journey with people in their struggles and joy all over the world. Today we come to encourage Nigeria to walk together towards elections that strengthen democracy, protect human dignity and promote the common good.

The biblical call is clear:

“Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” — Amos 5:24
