Joint Working Group between WCC, Roman Catholic Church to convene

The Joint Working Group between the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Roman Catholic Church will convene 1-3 September at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey.

The agenda will including sharing from participants on the challenges of the church in local contexts, followed by discussion on the situation of Christianity today.
Working groups will discuss the following areas: Understandings of Salvation and the Challenge of Religious Indifference; Collective Reconciliation: Processes and Tools in Global Contexts; and Confronting Violence and Discrimination Based on Religious Affiliation.
A special part of the programme will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey. Fr Prof. Dr Lawrence Iwuamadi, dean of the institute, will present the history of Catholic involvement in the academic work of Bossey and its contribution to ecumenical theological…
