“Get rid of them”: priest Samokhin named things that lead to sintranslated

Orthodox believers are advised not to keep amulets, amulets, and items related to magical practices at home. As Moskovsky Komsomolets reports, the priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, Mikhail Samokhin, explained what things contradict Christian ideas and why they should not be kept in the home. At the same time, there are no strict church rules that determine the furnishings of the home.

According to the clergyman, special attention should be paid to objects with occult, esoteric and pagan symbols. These include books on magic, various talismans, decorative brooms, which are credited with protective properties, and images of eyes that supposedly protect against the evil eye. Samokhin believes that the use of such things is incompatible with the Orthodox faith and contributes to the spread of superstitions.
In addition, the priest warned against storing literature and images that could induce a person to sinful thoughts and actions. He emphasized that not only the appearance of objects matters, but also their content, as well as their impact on a person’s spiritual life.
