The Irkutsk Metropolis reverently escorted the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimythoustranslated

On September 7, 2026, a solemn farewell to the ark with the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimythous took place in the Epiphany Cathedral of the city of Irkutsk. The prayer singing before the ark was performed by three bishops: Metropolitan of Irkutsk and Angarsk Maximilian, Bishop of Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk Konstantin and Bishop of Nerchinsk and Krasnokamensk Macarius, co-served by clergy of the Greek delegation, as well as the clergy of the Irkutsk and Bratsk dioceses. A huge number of believers came to see off and thank Saint Spyridon for the joy of prayerful communication, spiritual renewal and inspiration, despite it being a weekday.

Metropolitan Maximilian heartily thanked everyone involved in the miracle of bringing to Russia and Irkutsk “the great gift - the multi-healing relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky” and all those who help them on their journey, and asked the Lord for good health and strength for them “to continue to travel through our country, so that many people could venerate the great shrine and that St. Spyridon would bless us, blessed Russia, blessed the life of each of us, eradicated our sins with his example and his grace.” At the end of the thank-you speech, Metropolitan...

Thank you for writing. We are also waiting for Spiridon in Rostov, my daughter is already asking when they will bring him. And in Irkutsk, despite it being a weekday, so many people came - what a strength.

Thank you for writing about the send-off. In Nizhny, too, many people are waiting for the ark to be delivered; my grandson at the university has already asked. And in Irkutsk, three bishops served - this is strong, and there were so many people on a weekday, well done for breaking out after their shift.
