The "Shimbrea la Față a Domnului" monastery in Sita Buzăului, Covasna county, celebrated its patron saint on Thursday. "Be authentic and let the love of the Savior Jesus Christ work in you," Metropolitan Laurentiu of Transylvania urged the faithful.

The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Laurentiu of Transylvania, together with Bishops Andrei of Covasna and Harghita and Nestor of Deva and Hunedoara.

The Most Reverend Father Laurentiu explained that the Transfiguration took place before the Lord's Passion to strengthen the disciples in faith and to reveal to them the true identity of Christ.

"The change in the Face was not only a change in His appearance, but it was a total transfiguration of His being, which was engulfed in light, a light so strong that it foretold the light of the Resurrection."

"The human nature of the Savior Jesus Christ was totally deified. The divine nature made it so much that it deified it. The deified nature of the Son is the prototype that we must follow in order to reach the state of perfection", said His Eminence.
