IPS Joachim urged the abbots and abbesses of the diocese to use modern technologies with discernmenttranslated

Archbishop Joachim of Roman and Bacău urged the abbots and abbesses of the diocese to use mobile phones and new technologies in the monasteries with discernment.
His Eminence addressed the monks and nuns who coordinate the monastic settlements in the diocese during the synax held on Tuesday at the Diocesan Center in Roman.
"Use these modern and very modern things in the monasteries, but with discernment, like a pill when necessary. We live in a time of digitization, of the chemical industry, of secularization, but our battle is with sin, and we must distinguish where sin creeps in and use everything that the world offers us today, but in the perspective of salvation."
His Holiness Father Joachim highlighted the communion and spiritual responsibility that unites all those who have chosen the monastic life.
"I try to consider them as my brothers, that we are on the same scale and pursuing the same goal: salvation. If you do not pursue salvation, all the effort is in vain," said His Eminence.
