Inter-Orthodox Centre of the Church of Greece delegation visits Orthodox community in Vilnius

A delegation from the Inter-Orthodox Centre of the Church of Greece visited the Orthodox community in Vilnius during its official mission to the Oikosnet Europe General Assembly, which is being held in Lithuania.

During its stay in the Lithuanian capital, the delegation had the opportunity to meet members of the local Orthodox community and participate in its liturgical life.

The community is under the spiritual guidance of Bishop Panaretos of Tamisos, Patriarchal Exarch of Lithuania of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Particular attention was given to the work of the Lithuanian Koinonia Foundation, an initiative aimed at establishing a permanent space for Orthodox worship and community life in the country.

The initiative also seeks to develop educational, cultural and social activities, with particular emphasis on dialogue and cooperation.

According to the Inter-Orthodox Centre, the project represents “an important expression of the renewed Orthodox presence in Lithuania” and deserves the solidarity and support of the wider Orthodox and Christian community.
