"With every church consecration service, our heart is filled with strength and truth," Vicar Bishop Nichifor Botoșaneanu emphasized on Sunday.

His Eminence re-consecrated the Parish Church of the "Ascension of the Lord" in the German town of Doina and celebrated the Holy Liturgy at the specially arranged outdoor altar in the courtyard of the place of worship.

Starting from the words spoken by the hierarch upon entering the church, "The light of Christ illuminates everyone", the vicar bishop explained the spiritual significance of the consecration service.

"What is this light? The light of faith! When man carries within him the light of faith, he has no fear of sickness, nor of the enemies of this world, nor even of death, just as the martyrs did not fear."

The hierarch showed that the consecration of a place of worship is more than just a festive moment for the community: "The Lord works miracles even today, in our days, that's why the priest, when he enters the church, prays that the Holy Spirit will work, listen to people's prayers of thanksgiving and repentance."
