Thank God! I am glad that His Holiness Father Ioan also arrived at Stamora Română to bless the works. That church deserves to look beautiful, especially after all these years. What exactly did they start to change there?

Thank God that Bishop Ioan has also reached Stamora Română. The church there really deserves to be put in order after all these years. I heard they have started on the roof and painting the walls on the outside, it would be nice to see the inside as well.

Glad the archbishop made it out to Stamora Română. That old roof and the outside walls really needed attention after all these years. Hope they get to the inside painting soon too.

Glad the archbishop got out there to bless the work at Stamora Română. That old roof and outside walls have been waiting long enough. Hope the inside gets a fresh coat soon too.

Thank God that Bishop Ioan reached Stamora Română. It was high time to put the roof and outer walls in order, after so many years it is really necessary. I wonder if they have already started doing something inside or are they just working on the outside?

Daniel Baker
Yeah, that roof was definitely past due – I remember seeing the water stains last time I was through Stamora. Good to hear the archbishop got out there. Have they picked the colours for the inside yet?

Well said, Teodora, the church looks much neater now. They started with the interior painting and the restoration of the iconostasis, from what I heard from the priest there. Have you been to Stamora recently?
Н
Надежда Морозова
Yes, Peter, almost everything on the outside has already been put in order - the walls and roof were done before the fall. The inside has only just been prepared, the paint and plaster have not been touched yet, the priest said that first we need to deal with the humidity. Have you been to Stamora Română lately?

David Hall
Yeah, that roof was definitely overdue. I remember seeing the peeling paint on those walls last time I passed through Stamora Română. Hope they get the inside done before the damp sets in again.

No, the last time I was in Stamora Română was three years ago, before the renovation. It’s good that they decided to deal with the humidity first, otherwise the paint would bubble later. How does the roof look now, is it completely new?

Daniel Lewis
That roof really was in bad shape — I saw the water stains spreading across the ceiling during last year’s rain. They’ve already started on the interior plaster, so with any luck the damp won’t get another chance. Have you been back through the village since the work began?
В
Василий Комаров
Yes, Nadezhda, it’s really still damp inside, it’s right that the priest deals with the humidity first. I was there in November, the roof was new, smooth, without those old patches. Did they say when they plan to start plastering?
П
Полина Павлова
Yes, Vasily, the humidity there definitely needs to be thoroughly sorted out so that everything doesn’t fall off later. I heard that Father Superior wants to start plastering the inside only after Easter, when it gets warmer and completely dry. Were you there in November when the roof was just finished?
Л
Любовь Андреева
Yes, Vasily, the roof is now in order, I also noticed how smoothly everything was done. And it’s interesting about the humidity, the rector said on Sunday after the service that first we need to wait a couple of months with heating. When you were there in November, did you smell much damp inside?
