101 years ago, the Ecumenical Patriarchate issued the tomos of recognition of the Romanian Patriarchatetranslated

On July 30, 1925, the Ecumenical Patriarchate issued the synodal tomos by which it recognized the establishment of the Romanian Patriarchate, confirming the decision adopted by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church on February 4 of the same year.

In accordance with the canonical provisions, the decision of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church was communicated to the sister Orthodox Churches through an irenic letter sent on March 12, 1925.

Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church The document presented a brief history of the Romanian Orthodox Church, from the foundation of the first Romanian state formations to its elevation to the rank of Patriarchate, emphasizing that the Romanian people are among the first peoples to receive Christianity.

The letter was signed by Patriarch Miron Cristea, with the title of "Archbishop of Bucharest, Metropolitan of Hungarian-Wallachia and Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church", and argued the need to elevate the Romanian Orthodox Church to patriarchal rank.
