Congrats to Bishop Boxie. Sounds like his time as a university chaplain will come in handy with young people these days. Good to see a bishop who actually spent years in the parish trenches first.

It is good that Bishop Boxie spent years in the parish before becoming chancellor of the university. This experience with young people and ordinary people will serve him well in his new role. Congratulations from Albania!

Yeah, those years in the parishes give a guy a real sense of what families are actually dealing with week to week. I remember my own priest back in Boston always said the same thing — you learn more from hospital calls and bingo nights than from any textbook. Hope Bishop Boxie keeps that grounded approach.

Yeah, those hospital visits really cut through the theory fast. Bishop Boxie’s chaplain years at the university probably taught him the same — kids showing up at all hours with problems their parents never saw coming. Did your Boston priest ever talk about what surprised him most after leaving the parish?

Yeah, those late-night dorm crises have a way of stripping away the polished answers. My Boston priest friend said what shocked him most after the parish was how many young adults carried quiet grief from family stuff that never came up in Sunday Mass. Did the university kids ever open up to Bishop Boxie about things their own parishes missed?
