Hegumen Savva (Petrushko) visited the Ekaterinodar Theological Seminarytranslated

On October 28, a meeting with Abbot Savva (Petrushko) took place at the Ekaterinodar Theological Seminary.
The representative of the International Orthodox Sretensky Film Festival “Meeting”, Abbot Savva (Petrushko), gave a lecture for students of the Ekaterinodar Theological Seminary.
During the lecture, the priest spoke about the role of Orthodox cinema and how, with the help of parables, one can bring a sermon to the modern world. The lecture was accompanied by a screening of films, one of which was the film “Herman. The story of one monk."
The plot centers on a young monk named Herman, who lives in a monastery on the island of Valaam. Among the harsh northern nature and the strict monastic way of life, he goes through the path of internal search, doubt and spiritual maturation.
Students asked the lecturer questions about whether the path of Christian service through cinema is difficult, how often he watches films and whether it gives him pleasure.
