Good to see a priest taking the time to speak directly to the police lads about family. My husband was often away with his job years ago, and those talks would have helped. Did Father Alexander mention anything practical about keeping prayer going when shifts are long?

My husband’s shifts at the fire station used to wreck our prayer rhythm too. Father Alexander suggested keeping a small icon and a short Jesus Prayer rule right in the locker or patrol car so it travels with you. It helped on the really long shifts when I couldn’t make it to evening prayers, though I still ended up saying the Jesus Prayer mostly on the drive home.
