The miracle-working icon of the Mother of God from the Rarau Monastery was carried in a procession through the city of Câmpulung Moldovenesc on Sunday, as part of the "Honoring the Mother of God" event.
The icon was brought to town on Saturday, August 8, for the third consecutive year.
The procession started at the hour of Vespers and had several stops in important places in Campulung Moldovenesc.
The icon was accompanied by the Most Reverend Father Ignatius, the Bishop of Husi, by Fr. Aurel Goraș, archpriest of the Archpriest of the Câmpulung Moldovenesc, by the mayor of the municipality, Mihăiță Negură, and by abbots and abbesses from the monasteries in the area.
The group of pilgrims included children and young people in the national port, military students, firefighters, hunters and representatives of the "Silva Bucovina" Forestry Circle. On the route, the priests met the icon in front of the churches they pastor.
The icon arrived at the Assumption Cathedral, where it was placed in the middle of the nave.
