"Izvorul Miron" Monastery: Metropolitan Ioan urged to support widows and orphanstranslated

Metropolitan Ioan of Banat celebrated the Holy Liturgy on Monday at the "Izvorul Miron" Monastery in Românești, Timiș County, on the occasion of the dedication of the monastic settlement. His Eminence urged the faithful to follow the example of the Holy Prophet Elijah by caring for widows, orphans and all those in need.

The liturgical events began in the evening of Sunday, with the Vigil service, and in the morning of the holiday, the service of sanctifying the water at the monastery's spring and the Sacrament of the Holy Olive Oil were performed.

His Holiness Father John evoked the life and mission of the Holy Prophet Elijah, emphasizing his courage and unwavering faith.

"How brave the Holy Prophet Elijah was when he went before King Ahab and told him that, for his sins, God would stop the rain for three and a half years! How much power God gave him to perform miracles and how much God loved the Prophet Elijah!".
