Temple at the "St. Ilie" Monastery in Teșcureni, Republic of Moldova: All the power of the saint was born from prayertranslated

The "Holy Prophet Ilie Tesviteanul" monastery in Teșcureni, Republic of Moldova, celebrated its patron saint on Sunday, according to the unrevised calendar. On this occasion, the Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Antonie, who highlighted the power of prayer in the life of Saint Elijah.

His Eminence mentioned that the tradition of the Church also honors Saint Elijah as a model of monastic effort, his life in the desert being an example for those who want to dedicate themselves to prayer.

"Before changing anything around him, God helped him to change his conscience. That's why the Church honors him to this day as a great teacher of prayer and pure life," emphasized Metropolitan Antonie of Bessarabia.

IPS Antonie urged the faithful to look for the meaning of life by looking within themselves, not in external things.

"When man bows his knees before God, he begins to rise truly. When he cleanses his heart, he begins to see clearly the path that the Merciful One has prepared for him. When he learns to pray, he begins to understand the meaning of life. The world still needs such people today: people of prayer, of peace and justice, who keep his presence alive...
