Holy Synod of Church of Greece: First day of session concludes without an announcement

Without any announcement being issued, the first day of the August session of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece concluded today, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Synodal Hall.

The Holy Synod, presided over by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, addressed the items on the agenda, though no information was released regarding the decisions or discussions that took place during today’s session.

The Synod’s proceedings are expected to continue and conclude tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26.

Tomorrow’s session will also be the last for the Holy Synod in its current composition, as the new members of the 170th Synodal Period will take office this coming September.
