Holy Eparchial Synod of Australia continues second day of extraordinary session

The proceedings of the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, which has convened in extraordinary session under the presidency of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, continue today, Thursday, 30 July, for a second day.
Following the opening prayer, the Minutes of the previous sessions were ratified, after which the Holy Synod proceeded to consider the matters included on the agenda.
One of the matters examined was the preparation of the celebratory anniversary event to be held in Constantinople on 22 October 2026, marking the 35th anniversary of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s election to the most venerable Apostolic and Patriarchal Throne of Saint Andrew the First-Called. The Archbishop and the Hierarchs with him considered the details of the pilgrimage and the event, while once again blessing and congratulating the youth of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society of Sydney, who have undertaken responsibility for preparing the program.
