His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland participated in the gathering of Orthodox youth from Montréal.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada – The second gathering of Orthodox youth from Montréal and the surrounding area centered on the question: “Am I the light of the world?” The event offered an opportunity for the young participants to reflect together on how the light of Christ, received through the life of the Church, can bear fruit in their families, among their friends, and wherever God has placed them.

The gathering took place with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America, and with the participation of His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland.

More than 70 young people participated, representing Holy Brâncoveanu Martyrs Church in Montréal (Lachine), St. Elias Church in Montréal, St. Parascheva Church in Saint-Laurent, St. Nicholas Church in Montréal, and St. Joseph the Merciful, Metropolitan of Moldova Church in Sainte-Catherine.

His Grace Bishop Andrei began with the events of the night of Christ’s Resurrection, when, in the still-darkened church, the call resounds: “Come and receive the light!” The light we receive at that moment reminds us that the risen Christ is the source of our life. His Grace invited the young…
