His Grace Bishop Andrei Celebrates the Dormition of the Birthgiver of God at St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio

CLEVELAND, OH — With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel, His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland joined the clergy and faithful of Falling Asleep of the Ever-Virgin Mary (St. Mary) Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 14–15, 2026, for the celebration of the cathedral’s patronal feast, the Dormition of the Birthgiver of God.
The two-day celebration brought together clergy and faithful for prayer and fellowship, as well as events dedicated to Romanian Orthodox faith, culture, and heritage.
On Friday evening, August 14, the celebration began with Great Vespers with Litia, followed by the Paraklesis to the Mother of God. His Grace Bishop Andrei then offered a spiritual reflection to those gathered. The evening concluded with a concert of religious hymns presented by the “Comorile Izei” group from Maramureș, Romania.
On Saturday morning, August 15, the Feast of the Dormition of the Birthgiver of God, His Grace Bishop Andrei presided at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.
