His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel Visits Holy Archangels Parish in Palm Springs, California

PALM SPRINGS, CA — On Monday, August 17, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America visited Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel Romanian Orthodox Parish in Palm Springs, California, as part of his pastoral visit to the Romanian Orthodox communities of Southern California.

Upon his arrival, His Eminence was welcomed by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Florin Iftode, together with members of the parish community.

The parish church is currently under construction, and Archbishop Nathaniel visited the construction site to see the progress of the work. His Eminence discussed with the parish priest and the church painter the next stages of the project, including the interior iconography, the iconostasis and Holy Altar, as well as the remaining exterior work.

During the visit, His Eminence offered his encouragement to the parish priest and the faithful as they continue their efforts toward the completion of their new church, which will serve the spiritual and liturgical needs of the growing Romanian Orthodox community in the Palm Springs area.
