His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel Presides at the Lamentations of the Birthgiver of God in Anaheim, California

ANAHEIM, CA — His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America presided over the Great Vespers with the Lamentations of the Birthgiver of God on the eve of the Feast of the Dormition of the Birthgiver of God, Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Dormition of the Ever-Virgin Mary Romanian Orthodox Parish in Anaheim, California.

The liturgical service was officiated by the parish priest, V. Rev. Fr. Alin Munteanul, together with V. Rev. Hieromonk Dionisie, Abbot of Holy Resurrection Monastery, Temecula, CA, and Rev. Hdn. Benedict Oancea.

Following the service, His Eminence addressed the faithful with words of spiritual encouragement, expressing his joy at being with the Romanian Orthodox community of Southern California. He also offered paternal words of support and appreciation to the parish priest for his dedicated pastoral ministry and encouraged the parish to continue growing in faith, unity, and love for Christ and His Holy Church.

At the conclusion of the evening, the parish hosted an agape meal, providing the faithful with the opportunity to spend time with His Eminence, receive his blessing, and engage in warm fellowship.…
