"The bright garment of the faithful and pure soul is the very presence of God in people," said the Blessed Father Patriarch Daniel on Sunday, at the "St. George" Chapel of the Patriarchal Residence, where he explained the parable of the Wedding of the Emperor's Son.

The Patriarch of Romania highlighted the four main teachings that emerge from Sunday's gospel.

The king is God the Father "The parable from the Gospel of the 14th Sunday after Pentecost is a mystical and prophetic one, offering teachings about the mystery or the mystery of the salvation of the world in the Lord Jesus Christ, the mystery of the Church and Christian life," said Father Patriarch Daniel.

The haina luminoasă part of the soul made me think about how, after Baptism, one really feels “dressed” in a different way. I liked that Patriarch Daniel explained it so clearly: the Emperor is the Father and the bride is the Church. Has anyone else been wondering what “answer the call soon” means in everyday life?

The bit about the “haina luminoasă” being God’s own grace inside us really stuck with me too. After my baptism I remember feeling like I’d been given a fresh set of clothes that weren’t mine to dirty up again, yet here I am still spilling tea on them most weeks. Makes the call to keep that wedding garment clean feel very everyday and very urgent at the same time.
