The Governor of the Tula Region visited the Kazan Cathedral in the city of Elista | Elista and Kalmyk diocesetranslated

On June 10, 2026, during a working visit to the Republic of Kalmykia, the Governor of the Tula Region Dmitry Milyaev visited the Kazan Cathedral of Elista. The head of the region prayed at the revered icon “The Appearance of Christ the Savior to the Believers of Elista.” The clergy spoke about the miraculous appearance of the Lord in 1946 and about preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of this event, which will take place in September of this year. At the end of the visit, the consecrated list of the revered icon was handed over to the governor on behalf of Archbishop Justinian of Elista and Kalmykia. During their stay in the republic, the delegation of the Tula region also took part in commemorative events, visited a number of Elista facilities and discussed issues of interregional cooperation, which resulted in the signing of an agreement.
