The Gomel diocese organized a walk around the Sozh for the residents of the Vasilyevsky boarding housetranslated

On the eve of the International Day of Older Persons, a boat trip along the Sozh was organized for the guests of the Gomel social boarding house “Vasilievsky”. Elderly people and people with special needs living in a boarding house went on a trip on September 23.

The charity event with the blessing of Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin was held by the department for social service and church charity of the Gomel diocese. Together with the residents of the boarding house, the chairman of the department, Archpriest Vladimir Silenko, took part in the walk.

The motor ship departed from the pier on Kievsky Spusk. The route passed along Sozh along the city embankment and the Gomel palace and park ensemble. During the trip, the participants admired the autumn Gomel, listened to music and communicated with each other.

Archpriest Vladimir Silenko addressed those gathered with a pastoral word, wishing everyone good health, peace of mind, strength and God's help.
