On July 21, the Orthodox Church glorifies the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In honor of this image, especially revered in Rus', a magnificent stone church was built in the village of Shkolny, Prokopyevsky district, the rector of which is Archpriest Sergius Plaksin. The celebrations on the occasion of the patronal day of this church, together with numerous parishioners, were shared by the head of the Kuzbass Metropolis, Metropolitan of Kemerovo and Prokopyevsk Aristarkh. Sofija RistićThe church in Shkolny is always so well-groomed, even in winter the paths are cleaned. It’s good that Bishop Aristarchus came to see Father Sergius on his throne. I remember how last year after the service everyone baked cabbage pies together in the yard, I wish it would be the same this time.

George MillerThe temple in Shkolny really always looks neat, even in winter the paths are clean, as Sophia writes. I am glad that Bishop Aristarchus came to Father Sergius. Last year those cabbage pies after the service were very tasty, I hope we managed to get together this time too.
