On the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the birth of George Enescu, the film "Enescu, flayed alive" will be screened on Wednesday, October 21, at 18:00, at the Cinema Galeries in Brussels, Belgium.

According to a press release published by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), the screening is organized by the Arthis Association – the Belgian-Romanian House of Culture, with funding from the Department for Romanians Everywhere and in collaboration with the Romanian Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium and the ICR in Brussels.

The film will be presented in Romanian, with French subtitles, and will be followed by a meeting with the director, Toma Enache, and a discussion with the audience.

Enescu's music, at the center of the film "Enescu, skinned alive" follows the life story beyond the activity of composer and violinist.

"The story follows his relationship with Princess Maruca, the love that inspires and challenges him, against the background of an existence dominated by creation and an overwhelming vocation, bringing to the fore passion, sacrifice, obsession and the tension between personal fulfillment and artistic destiny, in a fascinating evocation of the European cultural world from the beginning of the 20th century," the organizers say.
