The Prosecutor General of Ukraine resigned. One of his subordinates was accused of “protecting” fraudulent call centerstranslated

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation. He reported this on his Telegram channel.

“This is a political decision. And I accepted it consciously. I don’t want the position of Prosecutor General to be used as an instrument of political confrontation. My position regarding the charges remains unchanged,” Kravchenko wrote.

Last week, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine conducted searches in the Office of the Prosecutor General. The deputy head of the department of international cooperation, Sergei Kropiva, was accused of leading a network that protected fraudulent call centers. He was detained.

Previously, Kravchenko said that he did not plan to resign because of Kropiva’s detention: “I don’t feel like I have to do this. There is a procedure: the Verkhovna Rada can vote, the president can initiate this resignation. If they do this, I will, of course, comply.”

Ruslan Kravchenko has worked as the Prosecutor General of Ukraine since June 2025.
