Every baptism is the victory of divine love: adult catechumen received in the Orthodox Church in Comăneștitranslated

An adult catechumen was received last Saturday into the bosom of the Orthodox Church through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, celebrated at the "St. Constantine and Elena" Church in Comănești, Bacău county.

"Such an occasion forces us to remember that each baptism is first the victory of divine love over man's wandering and the beginning of his return to the Father's house, and then forces us and the newly baptized to remember the weapons of the spirit with which we are equipped and to which we must resort in the war against unclean spirits in the Christian life we are trying to lead," said Father Simion Anastasoaie.

The priest officiated the Sacrament of Baptism together with co-minister Răzvan Țuglea, in the presence of the family, godparents and believers who accompanied each step of the baptismal rite with prayer.

After putting on the white shirt that symbolizes the new life he entered, the catechumen professed the true faith, renounced Satan and all his works, uniting with Christ through the triple immersion in the water of Baptism, and was sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit through the Mystery of Mirungeria, then shared for the first time with the Body and Blood...

Ioana StoicaSlavă Domnului pentru acest botez de adult! Mi-a rămas în minte ce a spus părintele Simion Anăstăsoaie despre „armele duhului” cu care trebuie să luptăm zilnic – e un lucru practic, nu doar frumos spus. Să-l ajute Dumnezeu pe noul botezat să le folosească cu adevărat.
