The Old Book Festival, organized on Sunday at the Bogdana Monastery in Rădăuți, Suceava county, brought the Church's written heritage back to the public's attention through conferences, book launches and the presentation of valuable church prints.

The event began with the welcome message addressed to the participants by father Ciprian Blaga, diocesan advisor to the Cultural Sector of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuţil.

The cleric highlighted the mission of the festival to bring back to the public's attention the written treasure of the Church and recalled that monasteries and church centers were, over time, true foci of culture, where the first Romanian cult books were copied, translated and printed.

The spiritual remedy for cultural isolation The central moment of the event was the conference "The written book - the spiritual remedy of cultural isolation", held by Father Constantin Valer Necula, university professor at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Sibiu.
