Families from Suceava celebrated 50 years of marriage: Love is a virtue that works, says IPS Calinictranslated

A number of 199 families from Suceava celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday and Saturday through an event organized by the Suceava City Hall in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuţil.

On this occasion, His Holiness Father Calinic, sent a message to the couples who reached the Golden Wedding jubilee, which was read by Bishop Vicar Damaschin Dorneanul. His Eminence emphasized that "love is a virtue that is worked on and honed every day."

The Archbishop of Suceava and Rădăuţil specified that the anniversary of half a century of marriage represents more than the passage of time, being the testimony of a life built in faith, patience and steadfastness: "A marriage that lasts for 50 years, or even more, is a blessing for society".

"A true love does not change only two people, it changes the world around them. There is no strong society without lasting families, because the history of a people is first written around the table in the house and only then in its books".
