The 12th Plenary Assembly of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC) opened on Monday in Jakarta, Indonesia. More than 120 cardinals and bishops from across Asia have gathered for a week of prayer, discernment, and reflection on the Church's mission across the continent.

The Macedonian church has always been a bridge between East and West, so I find it interesting how Asians see that "bridge-builders". May God give wisdom to those 120 bishops in Jakarta.

Yes, Daniela, and we in Prilep often say that our church has been exactly such a bridge since the time of St. Clement. I wonder how Asians will apply it in their context with so many different religions around. God grant that they bring something practical for ordinary people.

Yeah, it's interesting how Asians see "bridge-builders" with so many religions around. Here in Novy Sadu, we often say that the bridge is built with everyday small gestures, not with big words. God grant that something practical will come out of Jakarta, as Vesna and Daniela say.

I agree with Dušan, it's the little daily effort that counts. Here in Patras, when we cook for the feast of Saint Andrew, we see how people from different places come together without big words. I hope that the bishops in Jakarta will also find something simple and useful for the people.
