The hierarch celebrated the Holy Liturgy at the "Resurrection of the Lord" Episcopal Chapel in the municipality of Cahul, Rep. Moldova, where he showed what it means to take up the cross and follow Christ: "He transformed the Cross, through His Resurrection, from a sign of condemnation into a sign of life and victory."

At the same time, the Bishop of Southern Bessarabia explained the history of the establishment of the celebration of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the Church's calendar.

"It also reminds us of the fact that the Holy Cross was recovered and brought back to Jerusalem, being raised before the faithful. Since then, September 14 has become a day of honor."
