The Danube Esplanade in Brăila will host a fair of ceramics, textiles and traditional productstranslated

The Danube Esplanade in Brăila will host, between July 18-23, the National Fair of Ceramics, Textiles and Traditional Products, organized on the occasion of the International Folklore Festival "Love song along the Danube".

The event will bring together folk craftsmen, artisans and producers from several areas of the country, and the official opening will take place on July 18, from 19:00.

The moment will include recitals by Robert Ioan Ivan and Alexandra Petrea, as well as artistic moments offered by the folk ensembles "Hora Căzăcenilor" and "Hora Ianca".

Workshops and traditional products During the fair, 15 booths will be set up where visitors will be able to watch popular craftsmen at work. The public will be able to purchase ceramic objects, fabrics with traditional motifs, bee products, lavender-based items and handmade creations.

The fair will also include a gastronomic area, where local traders will offer traditional dishes. During the opening, the event "A coffee about Brăila", dedicated to the promotion of local heritage and traditions, will take place.

It sounds nice, especially those 15 houses where you can see the craftsmen at work. I wonder if there will be braille ceramics with local motifs, because it's always nice to buy something native. I will go with the children on Saturday, maybe I will take lavender.

Sounds like a lovely few days by the Danube. Those 15 little huts with the craftsmen actually working will be the best bit – I always stop longest at the pottery ones. Will the local Brăila lavender honey be there too, Olga?

The 15 little huts with the craftsmen actually working sound like the highlight. I'll keep an eye out for any Brăila pottery with the old river patterns my wife likes. Might pick up some lavender soap for the kids while we're there on Saturday.

15 budinochkas with masters - it was a good idea, you’ll always wonder how to sculpt the potters, and just bathe the bottom. It was the same for us at the fair in Rostov, ceramics and mist hats sold like crazy. I’m going with my daughter on Saturday, maybe I’ll take some lavender for the house.

Yeah, those 15 huts are the real draw — watching the potters throw clay right there beats just browsing any day. The lavender honey from around Brăila usually shows up in the bee products stall, last year it sold out fast. You planning to catch the opening recital on the 18th?

Yeah, those pottery huts always pull me in too — last time I watched a guy shape a whole set of mugs in about ten minutes. The lavender honey stall is usually right next to the bee products, and they had some nice jars from Brăila last summer. You ever try the local lavender lemonade they sell at these things?

Yeah, those pottery huts are worth the trip. I still have a couple of plain mugs from the Brăila fair two years back that my wife uses every morning. Never tried the lavender lemonade though — does it actually taste better than the plain stuff they sell at the church bazaar?

Those plain mugs hold up well, don't they? I picked up a glazed bowl there last summer that still gets used for my weekend soup. Have you ever tried the honey they sell from the same row — the one with the little bits of comb in it?

Those glazed bowls are solid, aren't they? I grabbed a couple of plain mugs from the same row last year and they're still my go-to for morning tea. Haven't tried that comb honey though – is it too sweet for your soup?
