Bishop Artemy of Taganrog performed a prayer service at the Rostov Cathedral on the occasion of the celebration of the 277th anniversary of the founding of Rostov-on-Dontranslated

On September 18, 2026, on the day of the celebration of the 277th anniversary of the founding of the city of Rostov-on-Don, the celebrations began with a prayer service in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. With the blessing of Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk, the service was led by the vicar of the Rostov diocese, Bishop Artemy of Taganrog.
His Eminence was co-served by the secretary of the Metropolitan of Rostov and Novocherkassk for the city of Rostov-on-Don, Archpriest John Osyak, the chairman of the parish council of the cathedral, Archpriest Alexander Bryantsev, the rector of the cathedral, Priest Dimitry Bolotaev, and the dean of the city.
The mayor of the city of Rostov-on-Don Alexander Scriabin, the chairman of the Rostov-on-Don City Duma Lidiya Novoseltseva, the deputy head of the Administration of the city of Rostov-on-Don for internal policy Andrey Kosenko, as well as representatives of the Administration of the city of Rostov-on-Don, the Cossacks, the Society of Banner Bearers, numerous parishioners and pilgrims prayed at the service.
