It’s good that there is now an emphasis on management skills and conflict resolution. In our Sunday school we often see how young priests with good theology get lost when they just need to get on with working with people or sort out the household. I wonder how many hours in the academy are now devoted specifically to leadership practice?

It's good that they are talking about it. In our parish, a young priest from the academy had a great knowledge of Scripture, but when it came to repairing the roof and reaching an agreement with two grandmothers about cleaning, he was completely lost. I wonder how many of those hands-on management hours they add now.

Our parish had a young priest fresh from the academy who could explain any Gospel passage but froze when the roof started leaking and the parish council argued over who should pay. Sounds like they're finally adding real management hours — I'd love to know exactly how many.
