BISHOP PORFIRY LEADS THE PATRONAL CELEBRATIONS AT THE BISHOP'S WOMEN'S MEETAGE IN HONOR OF THE REVEREND PAISIOUS OF THE SACRED HOUSE IN OLZHEVO [+VIDEO]translated

On July 13, Bishop Porfiry of Lida and Smorgon led a patronal celebration at the Bishop's Women's Compound in honor of St. Paisius the Svyatogorets in the village of Olzhevo.

Concelebrating with His Eminence was the vice-rector for educational work of the Minsk Theological Academy, Hieromonk Andrei (Vasilyuk), the cleric of the Church of All Saints, Priest Leonid Vabishchev, and the cleric of the St. Michael’s Cathedral, Priest Seraphim Pashkevich.

The diaconal rank was headed by Protodeacon Anatoly Melnitsky.

The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the St. Michael's Cathedral under the direction of senior regent Irina Lis.

The sermon on the sacramental verse was delivered by Hieromonk Andrei.

Also praying during the service were the abbess of the Bishop's Compound in honor of St. Paisius the Svyatogorets, nun Kassiana (Kupalenko) and the chairman of the Lida District Council of Deputies Inessa Gennadievna Belush.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Porfiry congratulated the sisters of the monastery and parishioners on the patronal holiday, then addressed those present with a word of edification and gave an archpastoral blessing.
