On July 11, on the day of remembrance of the “Three-Handed” Icon of the Mother of God, in the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the agricultural town of Druya, Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe led the Divine Liturgy during the Summer Rally of Orthodox Youth of the Polotsk Diocese.

At the walls of the church with bread and salt and flowers, Bishop Ignatius was met by representatives of the Orthodox youth of the Polotsk diocese.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: the dean of the Sharkovshchina church district, Archpriest Viktor Voloshchuk, the dean of the Rossony church district, Archpriest Alexander Gordevich, the head of the department for work with youth in the Polotsk diocese, Archpriest Igor Chechukovich, Archpriest Sergius Kovalsky, Deacon Ioann Kamenkov, and Deacon Boris Marmuzevich.

Liturgical chants were performed by a youth choir under the direction of Tatyana Chechukovich.

During the service, intense prayer requests for the restoration of peace were offered.

According to the sacramental verse, the sermon was delivered by the rector of the church, Archpriest Igor Chechukovich.

After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence and the concelebrating clergy performed a prayer service with the consecration of the icon of the Mother of God, called the “Three-Handed One.”

They did well to worship the icon of Panagia Tricheroussa. The youth with their dance led by Tatiana Chechukovic seemed to participate wholeheartedly. May God strengthen them.

Nice to see the youth choir under Tatiana Chechukovich leading the singing like that. The icon of the Three-Handed Mother of God getting blessed at the end ties right in with the feast day too. Hope the summer camp gives those young folks some real strength for the year ahead.

How good that Bishop Ignatiy celebrated the Liturgy on the day of the Three Hands icon. I liked that the youth choir, directed by Tatiana Chechukovich, sang during the mass and then did the moleben to bless the same icon. I hope that youth emerge stronger from the summer camp.

It’s good that Bishop Ignatius arrived on the day of “Three Hands” and the youth sang themselves. I remember that after the liturgy the icon was immediately consecrated at a prayer service. God grant that the guys from this rally have enough strength for the whole year.

Yes, Tatiana’s youth choir sang beautifully that day — you could tell they’d put in the hours. The blessing of the Three-Handed icon after the Liturgy felt especially right, given it was her feast. I hope the camp does give the lads and lasses that steady strength you mention; they’ll need it.

That's great, Cristina, I agree about Tatiana's choir, it shows that the young people really live it. The mólében with the icon of the Three Hands at the end seemed very appropriate to me, especially after the prayers for peace. Did you go to the camp or do you know any of the kids who participated?

Yes, Three Hands Day fit perfectly with the liturgy. It also caught my attention that the young people sang with so much enthusiasm, it shows when they really live it. Do you know if the icon they blessed was new or they already had it in the church?
