Bishop Theognost celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Vorontsovkatranslated

On July 19, on the 7th Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Feognost of Serov and Krasnoturinsky celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Vorontsovka.

Concelebrating with His Eminence was Archpriest Andrei Limonov, secretary of the Serov diocese, rector of the cathedral in honor of St. Maxim the Confessor, and priest Vladimir Votinov, rector of the church in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

At the end of the Liturgy, the bishop addressed those gathered with the words of a sermon. In his speech, the archpastor revealed the significance of the feat of St. Sergius of Radonezh as an example of humility, hard work and deep faith, emphasizing that it is these virtues that underlie the spiritual growth of a Christian. The Bishop recalled the great contribution of St. Sergius to strengthening the unity of the Russian land and the establishment of the monastic tradition, as well as how the example of the saint inspires believers today to help their neighbors, keep peace in their hearts and strive for unity in the Church.

The Bishop noted that:

“Reverend Sergius did not seek glory and honor—he sought God. And it was in this quest that he gained strength that transformed not only his own life, but also the fate of all of Rus'. Let us too...

Alexander MillerСпасибо за новость. Особенно запомнилось, как владыка Феогност сказал, что преподобный Сергий «не искал славы и почестей — он искал Бога». Это простое напоминание как раз то, что мне нужно было услышать сегодня. Хорошо, что такие службы бывают и в нашем небольшом Воронцовке.
